Pastor Kevin Schaal founded Northwest Valley Baptist Church in 1987 and has faithfully led the ministry for nearly four decades. He holds a B.A. from Bob Jones University, an M.Div. from Calvary Baptist Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from International Baptist College & Seminary. In 2000, he led the church to establish Arrowhead Christian Academy to serve families with a Christ-centered, academically strong education. Known for his expository preaching and shepherd’s heart, Pastor Schaal brings wisdom, clarity, and conviction to both the pulpit and pastoral leadership.

He holds a B.A. in Bible with a Youth Ministry Concentration from Pensacola Christian College, a Master of Divinity from Pensacola Theological Seminary, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Bob Jones University. Mr. Russell is dedicated to fostering a Christ-centered school culture where students thrive academically, spiritually, and socially under Biblical guidance.

Mrs. Heidi Rubi brings nearly two decades of teaching experience in public, charter, and private schools. She earned her Bachelor of Science in English Literature from Grand Canyon University before completing her elementary teaching certification through Rio Salado College. Throughout her career, she has taught third and fourth grade, served as a reading interventionist and librarian, and completed the proficiency exam for a reading intervention endorsement. Mrs. Rubi is committed to helping every student build a strong academic foundation while developing confidence, perseverance, and a love for learning. She believes each child is uniquely created by God and strives to make her classroom a place where students feel encouraged to grow and succeed.

He brings that same energy to Economics and Government, helping students connect abstract concepts to everyday life and current events. An ACA alumnus, Nate returned to ACA in 2025 as a full-time faculty member. He earned his B.S. in Secondary Education with an English concentration from Pensacola Christian College. Nate has spent several years working at Grandview and has also served in a variety of roles at Pensacola Christian College, including the print shop, dining facilities, and recreational programs. He has volunteered extensively at VBS and youth group events, and his camp experiences reaffirmed his passion for influencing students and witnessing God’s work in their lives. Nate brings fresh energy and a strong connection to ACA’s mission. His passion for literature and clear communication shines through as he encourages students to read deeply, write well, and think Biblically.

Pastor Kris graduated from ACA in 2006 and went on to earn a B.A. in Church Music from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, followed by a Master of Divinity from International Baptist College & Seminary in Chandler, AZ. He returned to teach at ACA in 2010 before the Lord led his family to serve in California in 2014. After six years of ministry there, he came back to Arizona in 2020 to serve as the Youth & Discipleship Pastor at NWVBC and as a Bible teacher at ACA. Pastor Kris helps students grow in their love for the Bible and prepares them to defend their faith through apologetics, which teaches how to give clear, Biblical answers to life’s hardest questions.

While in Michigan, Linda was the cheerleading sponsor for 10 years, and she has been the yearbook adviser at ACA since 2002. She has also substitute taught in many classes both in Michigan and at ACA. Tim graduated from ACA in 2009 and earned a B.A. in History from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. Tim brings a diverse professional background that equips him well for his current role. He served as an administrative assistant to the director of Ironwood Camp in California, gaining valuable organizational and leadership skills. Additionally, Tim spent five years at Amazon working in shipping and as a safety process assistant, where he developed a strong attention to detail, efficiency, and commitment to safety. His varied experience makes him a reliable and highly effective member of the ACA team.
